Q: Who is on staff to care for my child at After Hours Pediatrics?

Every child is seen by either a pediatrician, physician’s assistant or nurse practitioner on every visit.

Q: Does After Hours Pediatrics accept insurance?
Unlike some local care centers, we are on most major insurance plans. We can also accommodate cash visits.

Q: Do I need an appointment at After Hours Pediatrics?

You sure do. We feel it’s better for you to plan for your appointment time in the comfort of your own home rather than in an busy waiting room environment. We can give you an appointment time later that day or evening. By giving every child an actual appointment time, parents can plan to arrive and be seen in a timely fashion, avoiding excessive wait room times.

Q: What hours are you open?
We are open on weekdays from 8am to 11pm, and on weekends and holidays from 2pm to 9pm. Please visit the Contact Us page for the hours of the office nearest you.

Q: Can I get advice over the phone?
Yes, we will give phone advice to AHP Primary care patients. If you are a patient of another pediatric practice, we ask that you call their office for advice.

Q: Is After Hours Pediatrics an urgent care?
No, although we provide similar services to most Urgent Cares, our patients are seen by appointment. In addition,  the copay of an appointment at After Hours Pediatrics is less expensive than the copay at an Urgent Care Center.

Q: What services do you provide at After Hours?
We provide a full range of Pediatric Primary Care services such as well child checks and routine immunizations as well as more immediate care services including injury treatment, laceration care (stitches, skin glue or staples), and breathing treatments. We can also remove foreign bodies from the nose, ears or skin.  We also conduct school, sports, or camp physicals.

Q: Will my pediatrician know about this visit?

A summary of the evaluation, diagnosis and care provided is faxed to your pediatrician’s office within 24 hours of your visit.

Q: What if my child needs to be admitted to the hospital?

If your child requires hospitalization AHP will arrange their continued care through your pediatric hospital provider.

Q: Do I need a referral from my doctor’s office?
No referral is necessary to be seen at AHP.

Q: Do you perform vaccinations or well child check-ups?
We sure do! These are services performed by your primary care provider, and After Hours strongly believes that every child should have a primary care physician. If you do not have a primary care physician in the area, we’ll be happy to become yours!

Q: Will my child be seen in a timely fashion at After Hours Pediatrics?
We make every effort to provide exceptional care to each patient at their appointed time.

Q: Where will I get my prescriptions filled?

Our electronic medical records allows us to fax a copy of your prescription to your designated pharmacy.

Q: What age patients do you see at After Hours?
We see newborns up through 18 years of age.
